It all was Shaping up to be a Normal Day…
12 09 2007September 11th was a day just like any other. Men and women alike, went off to their jobs at the World Trade Center. More than 2000 of them would never return. The first plane slammed into the Twin Towers around 8:46 am. Then the second plane crashed into the other tower. About 45 minutes later the first tower collapsed. I was in second grade when this incident happened. I remember my teacher, Mrs. Len told us all about the attacks on the world trade centers. I remember that my mom took us out of school early. Other that that it was all a blur, being in second grade, I had no idea who attacked the World Trade Centers. I didn’t understand what terrorism meant. I remember my family being very subdued at home and the teachers were like that too. I just think that no single person can understand the magnitude of the event that took place that day. I think it will take many years to finally realize that the amount of people that died is not a way to measure the size of an event but it is the number of people who cared and were hurt not physically but mentally. We should remember those who perished, but we must not dwell on events that were so tragic, but instead think about the good things and remember the people we lost as they would have wanted to be remembered.
